An absolute gem in Barnyard. So fun to come here and hang out, or play cards or watch a game on one of the tvs. The beer is out of this world!! Like light? Sours? Dark? There is something here for you!!
Excellent selection of beers, laid-back atmosphere, exceptional customer service, and pet-friendly. Delighted to have discovered this brewery. We sampled 10 of their beers and became big fans. Also bought several to take home as gifts.
Our family was camping nearby and we spent the morning hiking around Point Lobos. We stopped in The Cheese Shop in downtown Carmel, so I felt like I needed something to complement that back at camp. I was surprised to see that the shop was nearly empty, but it gave me a good opportunity to talk with the owner and brewmaster. I tried his Hazy IPA and Juicy IPA and ended up grabbing a can of the juicy to go. I would have spent more time hanging out, as it seems like a great little spot, but had to get back to the family. I'd go back in a heartbeat! We're back up in the area later this year, so hopefully we can make that happen.
We love this hidden gem! The beer/cider is great and the service is even better! Joseph and Jeff are very knowledgeable and friendly! Always a pleasure getting a beer and seeing familiar faces! They have a wide variety on tap sure to please everyone's taste. The board games and pinball machines are the prefect addition to entertain the whole family! The ambiance is clean and welcoming. We can't wait to return!
We stopped in for beer to pass the time while waiting for a table at From Scratch. What I loved.. 1. Great selection of beers at decent prices 2. Plentiful seating and a chic interior design 3. Said decent priced beer was tasty and delicious. Samples were $4 each. 4. Friendly service and great beer recommendations (I enjoyed them all) 5. Patio seating and dog friendly inside and out! Overall a fantastic place to hang out. They have games and TV's to watch sports. Although there's no food, it is located in close proximity to plenty of restaurants. I'm not sure why but it was completely dead on a Sunday afternoon, with only us and one other dog owner as patrons. Maybe it's slow because of the weather but there's never a better time for beer so come check out Hidden Hills!
Found this hidden gym (get it- hidden ) today. No trip anywhere is complete without at least one brewery stop... it's always a gamble trying somewhere new but this place did not disappoint! Cute little cozy place... was greeted right away by the beer-tender (his brother is the brewer). I ordered a sampler with 3 sours and the stout on nitro. I also sampled a few others before settling on a glass of the Love for Lahaina. This place has a beer variety for everyone (light to dark to sours) plus a cider and a variety of non-alcoholic options. Late Night Munchies Stout- not normally a Nitro fan but this had really good flavor! Not too sweet. Coffee and chocolate notes. Peaches & Cream Sour- Good sour but could use a bit more of the peach flavor for my liking. Love for Lahaina (POG Sour) - LOVE the Love! Not just for my fond memories growing up of my many trips to Maui and Lahaina but I also LOVE P.O.G. And this sour hits the spot! *they partnered with a local non-profit in Lahaina for a fundraiser so you know the $ is going to the people who really need it. Mango Lattice Sour - my least favorite of the 3 sours, but you might like it Small Town Brown- a good brown, easy drinker Frost Bite (cold IPA) - IPA brewed with lager yeast and lager style... aromatics are hoppy and taste is hoppy but light like a lager, very easy to drink! Also very intriguing, not sure how to describe it lol It's just good so drink it.
Hidden Hills is a new brewery that opened earlier this year (2023) that serves a variety of beers from ales to hazy ipas to sours. It's a freshly renovated space with plenty of indoor seating as well as a couple TVs and board games. While they don't have food options, you are welcome to order from the nearby restaurants and bring it in. The beers are decent. I liked the mango sour - just a touch of fruity sweetness but still plenty of beer flavor. The ales and ipas were alright and easy to drink. Service was nice.
Two brothers - locally grown - very friendly and knowledgeable. Experts at their craft. Wonderful spot at the Barnyard in Carmel. Very warm and friendly feeling as we entered their spot. My wife and I had a chance to visit and spend some time chatting with the business owners. These guys are legit. They brew and package their own recipes. They walked my wife and I through their brewing, canning, and labeling process - wow! We enjoyed a couple of their beverages and some light treats provided by "The Cheese Fairy". The brothers offer both indoor and outdoor seating. The interior is warm and welcoming. I'm not a beer drinker but I'm definitely going to recommend this place to all my friends and family who are.
Really good little micro brew place in Carmel. We were referred by our lovely waitress Elise from next door at "Sur at the Barnyard". We probably would not have come by if she had not recommended, but I'm sure glad we did. Will be back again next time we come to Carmel.
There is always a fear that on opening night of a brewery the beers are an experiment and there is more focus on getting something... anything out that quality goes out the window. I'll admit when I saw more than 5 options on the menu I didn't have high hopes for this new place. I typically also give a place a few months before a review because it does take time to get the service down. However, Hidden Hills requires an immediate review to get their name out there. The service was spot on despite a large crowd on opening night. Everyone was super helpful and recommended great options. I never felt rushed to choose even with a growing line of people coming in the front door. I tried a fresh hopped IPA which was crisp and hoppy. I also tried the this ain't juice hazy IPA which tasting so juicy I literally said, "I can't believe this isn't juice." My wife enjoyed an apricot sour that was so fresh it felt like eating an apricot fresh from the farmers market. Turns out the brewers have a ton of experience and it really showed. On opening night they offered pizza but teased a menu of bites to come. Definitely check this place out!
